Okay, but... what is Reiki, exactly?

According to the Canadian Reiki Association, "Reiki (ray-key) is a multi-faceted spiritual energy that can be used to help people with meditation practices, spiritual growth, healing relationships, manifestation of goals and activating the Divine healing power within all living beings. Our physical body is alive because of  the “Life Force Energy” that is flowing through it. If our Life Force is low or blocked, it impacts our well-being and personal health. Reiki is an energy that works on the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual level. The technique increases one’s Life Force Energy that brings the body back into balance, promoting a healthier life."

It's important to remember that Reiki is never to be substituted for the advice or care of a medical doctor or mental health professional! This is not a miracle cure, by any means. Reiki is here to support and uplift you on your personal journey, whether that's deepening your spirituality, physical or emotional healing, or a gentle reprieve from the demands of everyday life. Reiki can help open us up to a new level of relationship with our inner self, our higher self, and the unconditional love from the Universe. Reiki is not attached to any single religion, lineage, or lifestyle, and can be enjoyed by everyone. The relationship between practitioner and recipient is one of trust, support and care, and should always be undertaken with explicit and unquestionable consent between all parties.
